Still putzing around with the color experiments. This was done with color inks...

Lately I've been trying to work with actual watercolor, which is a real bitch to control. Shit just wants to go everywhere, yo...

as evidenced by this awful drawing of the baby from Eraserhead. I fucked the mouth up and couldn't rescue it, for the life of me. Now it's just a random mutant, I imagine...or perhaps it could be the baby that appeared in the cheapo Italian rip-off of Eraserhead

Voluptuous Panic

A book I love returning to time and again is Mel Gordon's Voluptuous Panic: The Erotic World of Weimar Berlin (Feral House, 2000). It's an exhaustively researched and profusely illustrated exploration of a fascinating time in history (God, that sounds like I stole it from the back cover of a Civil War textbook, doesn't it?) Here's just a small sample of all the goodness inside. Isn't it always heartening to see that people have always been perverts?

Still playing around with watercolor and color inks. The skin tones are still a bit too orange; I think I need to buy more colors...perhaps some burnt ochre?
These are just sketches to practice mixing colors on, not really finished drawings in their own right. I think I may have unconsciously ripped off
bougieman's character Plopsy Pete on this first one...
