Prior Offenses, No. 3

Bougieman, how could I hold out after reading that message you sent me? That story of you and Rebecca shouting out "My Huffy!" warms my heart. This one's for you guys!
from 1998....

Prior Offenses, No. 2

A comic from around 2000 featuring my character Herbert the Pervert (yes, I'm aware that there's a character by the same name on the show FAMILY GUY, but mine came first!)There's a 6-page Herbert story in Danny Hellman's LEGAL ACTION COMICS #2, but I haven't done anything with him since.

(I don't know why this image came out so fuzzy. At first I thought my glasses were smudged. It seems not to have scanned well)

“I gotta go see this cat I know down on 14th St.”

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Good news! I was walking down 14th Street in NYC today, and who should I see but the 14th Street Kitty! He used to be the cat-in-residence of this crappy little shack of a store wedged in an alleyway between two buildings--one of those places that sells Biggie Smalls T-shirts, bootleg CDs, and Nag Champa incense. He would always be hanging out on the sidewalk, cool & collected in the midst of the chaos, and whenever I was in the area I'd always make sure to swing by & give him a pat. Back around November, I went to see him and found the store closed down, empty, no sign of the cat...until today! He seems to have taken up residence at a 99-cent store a few doors down. His stomach was shaved, so he'd probably had surgery, poor guy, but he seemed good otherwise.
Here's some pics of him, representin', back around Sep. 07

Still missing, unfortunately, is another denizen of the area: The Magic Mouse Man. He was a big, walrus-looking guy who could usually be found sitting on a milk crate on the corner of 14th & 6th, intoning "Magic Mouse!" over and over as he played with one of the little plastic mice on a string that he was selling. I bought a few from him over the years, but I could never get the damn things to work right. Here's a drawing of him from around last summer, when I saw him last.

Prior Offenses, No. 1

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

So I've been digging through my boxes of old drawings, seeing if there's anything interesting I could post here. This one's from about 1998 and features my character, Ritalin Rik. It was never published anywhere, as far as I recall.
I don't remember exactly who Lani Guanier was or why I thought it'd be funny to name a school after her. I know she had something to do with the Clinton administration (talk about making sure your work's not dated!)

(So where did he get all that semen?)
And here's a sketchbook drawing from about the same time, with a joke in a similar vein (no pun intended)

Two Happy Drunks

Tuesday, March 25th, 2008

I happened to pass by these two rummies sharing a laugh a few months ago, and something about them stuck with me. This is a pencil sketch; I was thinking about doing it in ink, but then after I scanned it I started playing around with the contrast levels and other features in Photoshop and I kind of like the way it is now. I just got Photoshop installed on my computer, so this is all very new to me. It's definitely superior to the program I was previously using, DaguerreotypeShoppe (hi-hat)

Adult Wacky Packs

More of the subtle, sophisticated humor for which I'm known.

I'm not really satisfied with this drawing. It looks like the baby was already sitting in the plate and is eagerly awaiting a torrent of afterbirth discharge rather than having just been jettisoned there by the force of said discharge. The baby should be covered with slop, like a real newborn, but I'm afraid he'd just get lost in the background if I did this. Maybe a little slop? I dunno; I guess I'll work on it some more...
(For those outside the US, "Prego" is a brand of spaghetti sauce. Hardy-har.)

Dirty Stuff NSFW

Many thanks to bougieman for the plug! Below is a drawing that appeared in his fine publication SLEAZY SLICE, the dirtiest, sickest collection of comix you'll ever wrap your hot little hands around. What you see below is perhaps the tamest thing in it, just to give you an idea. If you haven't ordered a copy from him yet, you really need to redeem thyself and get on it!!!!

And here's another from the same set...I was planning to publish a mini-booklet of these sick drawings, but, as often occurs, I got distracted and started working on other stuff (or watching TV)

Who wants some Brach’s hard candy?

One of the few things I drew in 2005. Ballpoint pen and Col-Erase colored pencils. I only had a few colors, which is why there's so much blue.
