March 4th, 2010Meet…Gracie!
February 25th, 2010
Here's some pics of the cat I'm currently fostering. Thing is, I really like her and I think I'm gonna keep her! Her name's Grace, she's two years old, and she's a total love. The poor kitty's been in a shelter for the past year, having been given up by her previous owner because she didn't get along with other cats. Even though she's only been here a week, Grace has totally made herself at home; I'm really falling for her in a big way :)

On an unrelated note, is it just me or is LiveJournal completely dead lately?

but Happy Shmalentine's Day!
And if you like deformed babies, make sure you check out
Finally, in honor of Valentine's Day, I'll leave you with a quote by Tadeusz Borowski from his story "Auschwitz, Our Home"
"I think of how very mature you were; what devotion and--forgive me if I say it now--selflessness you brought to our love, how graciously you used to walk into my life which offered you nothing but a single room without plumbing, evenings with cold tea, a few wilting flowers, a dog that was always playfully gnawing at your shoes, and a paraffin lamp.
I think about these things and smile condescendingly when people speak to me of morality, of law, of tradition, of obligation...Or when they discard all tenderness and sentiment and, shaking their fists, proclaim this the age of toughness. I smile and I think that one human being must always be discovering another--through love. And that this is the most important thing on earth, and the most lasting."

A simpler time, before terms like "birther," "death panel," and "Avatar" arrived to oppress our consciousness. It was in this time of innocence--perhaps as a harbinger of the evils to come?--that the mighty
locopuff founded
jensartnight, a community devoted to the artistic expression of depravity, squalor, perversion, stupidity, and all that other good stuff. I joined as co-maintainer soon after, and for a few glorious months we built a community of like-minded perverts and inky goons, posting drawings on various topics. But, like everything else in this corrupted, spirit-crushing world, it died out and has lain dormant for nigh on two years.
Until now!
Yes, I'm reviving
jensartnight I'll be posting topics weekly and I expect YOU to participate. (Or, if you're more comfortable being a voyeur, join and just watch the proceedings.) Go to the site and read more about it, then sign up, won't you? For the first topic, I'm going to ask for a little bit of your help. Send me topic ideas over the next week and I'll put 'em in a hat and choose one at random. We've already done the following topics, so come up with something new...
harlequin babies, tranny hookers, mutant cats, Brian Peppers, British smiles, Mormons, hermaphrodites, tards, and post-apocalyptic self-portraits.
You can still post on these topics, if you'd like. Now, get to it!

For a period in the mid-90's I got into making sculptures out of Sculpey oven-bake clay. I was digging through a box of old photos the other day and came across some pics of a couple of them

some kinda creature in a bowl of bloody discharge

I kind of like this "making of" shot

I also found this photo of my dear, departed kitty, Tura, from the same time period.

Awwwwww...

January 28th, 2010Miserable George
January 23rd, 2010
I picked up this god awfully ugly craft kit at the thrift shop across the street from me today. This particular model is listed as "Miserable George", and is crypto-satanically "Fun for Ages 6 to 66".
I had planned to make this, but when I unpacked the instructions a bunch of weevily little larva things fell out. They were completely dessicated and seemed dead, but now I'm worried that I just brought lord-knows-what kind of pest into my house, so I shoved it all into a plastic bag and stuck it out in the hall. I'm a bit paranoid about infestation, what with all the bed bug horror stories one hears.
